Thursday 18th August

Set off into New York again by train and walked through Times Square which was buzzing.
Went to see the Harry Potter exhibition which everyone enjoyed. Lots of clothing from the films as well as a Hogwarts Express and 'live' mandrakes!

Mark Walsh had recommended a deli near Carnegie Hall so we walked a few blocks and discovered an amazing deli. The only problem was that we didn't know what to order.
Paul and Oscar came out with sandwiches that were approximately 6" high and impossible to eat,but fun. We found that we could only eat half so the second half was eaten at the end of the day so it was very good value for money!

We ate our huge sandwiches in Central Park and thoroughly enjoyed some funky street performers and a bubble maker!! George and Arthur enjoyed making the bubbles too!

Visited the Pompeii exhibition which we thought would be interesting after all the volcanos we saw in New Zealand. It certainly made you think and had a good simulation room.

Doesn't sound like a long day, but we found ourselves back at Grand Central at 7pm (ready to eat the second half of our sandwiches!!).

Molly was delighted that she found the 'whispering wall' in the station, and you really could send a whisper from one side of the corridor to the other. This all stemmed from watching the film 'Arthur' starring Russell Brand where he has a tour of Grand Central so we checked out the amazing ceiling and found the whispering wall. As well as the clock from Madagascar!!
