Di kindly drove the three of us north east up the Connecticut coast, through thick traffic,to Sarah and Jez's stunning house in Lyme. Di stayed for lunch, a chat and a tour of the garden before having a much better trip back to Greenwich.
We decided that a swimming pool could not be wasted on such a beautiful afternoon and even I had a swim. (Which proves how warm the water was!!)
A quick turn around and we drove down to the river and boarded their motor boat and travelled about 45 mins out to a fabulous seafood restaurant called the Blue Oar. The trip and the food were amazing and the children really enjoyed it. We were impressed by Jez navigating the river in pitch black on the way back.
I have been so spoilt on our trip that I don't know how I will settle back to the mundane jobs of cooking and washing, never mind working!!
