Friday 12th August

Bruce's sister Alison and her husband Bill came over for a coffee this morning.
The children littered around whilst we had a good chat. They came with a silver fern pin for each of us which is the symbol of NZ.

All in the car again and headed north to Pakiri beach for a horse ride.
It was lovely to all ride along a sun drenched beach together. It was the first time any of my boys have been on horseback so rather a special moment. Molly managed a small canter whilst the rest of us plodded along!

Tried to find out about some fishing in Leigh but we appeared to need our own equipment which we did not!!

Stopped at a marine protection beach and walked along the volcanic rock and enjoyed the amazing views out to Goat Island.

Got back just in time to get ready to go out for our evening meal.
Met Alison and Bill again at a Thai restaurant in Takapuna. It was also lovely that Karen (Bruce's daughter) and her partner Rodney joined us too.
A really lovely chatty evening.

Everyone has made us so welcome.

  1. Horse riding did look fun and great location - wish I'd come along ! You should get great views of Auckland as you take off in the spring sunshine - may be worth a photo if you have the camera handy. LOL and safe journey. xxxx
